This is an amazing toy. It is a puzzle cut from one block of wood. When you take it apart you find a table, two big chairs, two small chairs, coffee tables a foot stool and a chopping board. The interesting thing is – how different adults and children see it. Nine out of ten adults look at it and see a puzzle with a set of furniture inside and immediately wonder how it goes back together. But most children look at it and see a set of blocks and wonder what they can make with them. They can be arranged to be a bed and pillow, a high-chair and a desk and seat. Or you can lie the high chair down, rearrange the bits and you have a train, or Santa’s reindeer and sleigh. Those four are shown in the label but we've seen about 30 – 40 different ways to play with it including a castle, rockets and robots, aeroplanes, elephants, dogs, towers and a front-end loader. If you give it to a one year old they are not interested in the puzzle at all but they still recognize the pieces and play with the blocks to make simple buildings. From 3 to 10 years of age kids tend to make up more elaborate games. It is usually around 5 to 7 years old when they start trying to figure out how it goes back together. About 50% of these puzzles go to adults. Anyone into puzzles or wood find them intriguing.
