This Castle on a Hill is made from a Red Mallee Burl.
It stands approx 18cm high when open and 14cm wide. Mallee is smaller and shorter than most trees, and has a propensity for burl growths. A burl is formed by a tree in response to an environmental injury such as a pruning cut, disease, or insect damage.
